Meeting1:

Inspiration

Mood board

Then quickly created the mood board to envision our game design.Research: topic idea & significance

In the second meeting, we share topics for the final.

Rough Game Mechanism

As we studied and researched the topic's core experiences, we started building the mechanism.

Meeting 2 and Class Meeting with John (Feedbacks)

In the class meeting, We shared with John, and these are the feedbacks. it helped us to clear interactions and experiences for our game in addiction, avoidance.

Meeting 3: Developed Concept and Idea Sketch

in the Third meeting, we got fundamental game experiences and sketches out. From this ides iteration, we planned to hide the tree as a final goal from level 1, 2D experience, and reveals in level 2 when the perspective switches.  it would be better if players can see their self-esteem cultivated or fade through the game experience.

Final Game Mechanism Based on Research

we got the final metaphoric interactions and objects of self-esteem for a clear game experience. Color Scheme & 2D, 3D Design Direction

We divided design work into 2D and 3D assets design. we did 2D minigame designs in illustration analogous to Instagram experience.

for a better transitioning experience between the 2D to the 3D world, We decide to have the low poly design.

Level 1: 2D Minigame Design Final

Level 2: 3D Game Design Process and Final

In order to create the photo frame of Instagram, we cut out the building side. We modeled 3D objects in Cinema 4D and export them to Unity. We start implementing the game interaction and moving area in level 1 and 2 ad a 2D and 3D worlds.

this is a picture we shared as a progress to get feedback from each other. we made more progress than this. then lost....  the entire scene, color, and details had to be redone .

Lv 2 Collecting Seeds

All those seeds are based on autobiographical experiences from our teammates that things are trivial but these activities you want to do require courage, will, and perseverance to look back on your memories and take actions according to Nathaniel Branden, psychologist and author of Six Pillars of Self-Esteem.
